Watercolor
Watercolor, watercolor, watercolor… it is my joy, my freedom of expression, my love.
The flow of the water and paint, the way it mixes and separates, leaving all kinds of interesting marks, makes my heart sing. This love lead me to teach watercolor, sharing the joy with others.

Nurtured 37" x 25" watercolor Miniature chrysanthemums. This plant was given to one of my daughters and lived in my yard many years, until recently. After I painted this beautiful representation, the plant died! I guess it did not want to compete with the beauty of the painting...
Intrigue 51" x 51" watercolor This white rose is the largest watercolor I have ever painted. Challenging and a lot of fun. It is gorgeous!
Intrigue 51" x 51" I am standing next to this painting so you can get a feel for the scale.
Purple Heart 20" x 16" watercolor The beautiful tiny pink flowers on this dark purple plant, Purple Heart, is a delightful place to marvel at the intricacies of nature.
Anticipation 13" x 17" watercolor I had planted a California native Matilija Poppy in my yard. I know they prefer to “pick” their own spot, but I put it where I wanted it. Well it was not too happy and grew slowly. It finally decided to give me ONE bud! My anticipation level was very high so I had to paint it. It was the only flower that year, but worth the wait!
The Walk 31.5" x 26" watercolor Santa Clarita has many beautiful hiking trails amongst the oak trees. This time of year the wildflowers are an added benefit to every hike. I love the sunlight shining low through the trees and the accompanying shadows. Just looking at the painting makes me want to walk that path.
Farm View Revisited 23.5" x 14.5" watercolor This was painted as part of the 100th anniversary celebration for Women Painters West. The concept was to create a painting inspired by one of the early WPW artists. It will be on display at the Brand Library & Art Center in Glendale from 11/13/21-1/8/22.
Departure 21.5" x 27" watercolor My thought process about “Departure” was a person sitting in an airplane, getting ready to depart. Looking through the window covered in raindrops at an almost abstract landscape, saying goodbye to the life the person lived and wondering what the future would bring.
Blood Moon 17" x 20" watercolor This was a total lunar eclipse when the normally light colored moon becomes red or ruddy colored. There was also a partly cloudy sky glowing in the moonlight.
Almost Alone 27.5" x 21.5" watercolor I was in Union Station, downtown Los Angeles, in a deserted area toward the back. There were just a few pigeons walking around. A man walked in and plopped himself down on a seating area. Leaving his backpack on, he pulled out an electronic device, oblivious to his surroundings… he seemed confident, comfortable as if part of an every day routine, but somehow lonely and isolated. Alone, except for the birds and who or whatever was on the other end of the electronic device.
Glory 21.5" x 27" watercolor Even with the very bright color I find this scene relaxing and serene.
Los Angeles Freeway - Night 16" x 19" watercolor private collection, First Place award winner. signed and numbered gicleé prints available. The beauty and the ugliness of the Los Angles freeways.
In His Own World 27" x 21" watercolor This was the same scene as “Almost Alone”, but I had thought more about it, and realized that maybe he was very happy, playing a game on his device, enjoying his life and the solitude of the moment.
Showing Off 16.5" x 13" watercolor The use of holi powder while jumping and flipping his skateboard makes this a remarkable scene.
The Right Path 27" x 23" watercolor It is always the right path when you become one with nature!
Tradition 20" x 16" watercolor This beautiful Hanukkah Menorah represents the traditions and history of the holiday. I love it so much that I think it could be up all year.
Reflection 16.5" x 20" watercolor This is the reflection and glow of a menorah on a glass tabletop. I feel it has a story to tell, a memory, a glow of past joys…
Toward the Light 15.5" x 18.5" watercolor The light in the darkened room, and the man silhouetted in that light, seems to draw you in.
